with high-speed retrieve, designed for targeting brutal Kingfish

The Reel
The Shimano Talica 12 Jigging Reel is built on
solid engineering principles that put this reel in a league of its
own. It offers a high-speed retrieve that you can use for jigging
up brutal Kingfish from offshore structure where speed can make all
the difference. You can also use it to target Marlin and Tuna
trolling lures or pitching out a bait to a fired up pelagic.

This reel has a one-piece cold forged and machined Aluminium frame,
treated with a proprietary surface process for cutting-edge
corrosion protection. Shimano then added a lightweight cold forged
aluminium spool, oversized HEG (High Efficiency Gearing) gear,
waterproof carbon drag system and 6 S-ARB bearings for super slick
operation. The Shimano Talica 12 High Speed Jigging
Reel is constructed to withstand massive drag pressures
and a carbon drag system has been waterproofed (when engaged) to
handle salt water spray.

S A-RB
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB
bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. That
system reduces the possibility of salts or sand inhibiting the
bearings rotation.

CF Aluminium Cold Forged Spool
This spool increases the strength and durability over diecast
aluminium or graphite spools.

Spiral X
Spiral X Construction consists of 3 layers – a blank made of
vertical fibres, an inner layer, and an outer layer, both comprised
of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite
directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional
horizontal fibre sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced torsional
rigidity without adding extra weight. This, in turn, facilitates
instant power transmission for precise casting and fighting fish.

Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank’s outermost layer is
diagonally wrapped with carbon tape which forms an array of “X”
shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle, and the part of
the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish
species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps
during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength
and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction
delivers sharp and crisp rod control.
