The Reel

S-Direct Gear
With the S-Direct Gear, you get more precise gear component
alignment, reducing movement of critical parts within the reel.
Coreprotect involves a sealed bail arm line roller, rotor and
roller clutch, so the Stella FI can be fished in a variety of
environments without being affected by sand, dirt or water.

G Free Body
G Free Body means the reel’s centre of gravity has been moved
closer to the rod by positioning the worm shaft oscillation
mechanism at the top of the reel body for less winding fatigue.

As befitting a reel series like this, to keep everything moving
smoothly, this reel has 13 SA-RB Bearing and an all new design
anti-reverse bearing, which generates less friction and lighter
handle rotation. Additionally, there’s a Titanium Bail Arm, a
larger, ergonomically shaped drag knob for adjusting the new Coil
Wave Spring Drag, a longer spool shape for greater casting distance
and a redesigned line clip for when the reel is not in use.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB
bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that
reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings’
rotation.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings
and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing
efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with
ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect
rotation even under heavy loads.

Aero Wrap II Oscillation System
Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially
designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds for the
Propulsion Spool Lip design. It provides uniform line lay and
winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast while
providing longer casts than other oscillation systems. So, casting
distance increases with less effort required.

E.I. Anti-Corrosion Surface Treatment
After the anodisation process is finished, a second layer of
surface treatment is added. This treatment is forced into the
remaining surface impurities. This gives salt no hideout and also
results in an extremely smooth-to-the-touch finish. A reel with
E.I. treatment has more than double the corrosion resistance of a
standard anodised reel.

Superior Aircraft-grade Aluminium
A6063 aluminium is used for its increased corrosion resistance and
A7075 is used for its extremely low mass resulting in lower
start-up inertia.

The Rod

Utilising high quality graphite sheets rolled on custom designed
